Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
This morning we will depart Kampala heading to the southwest through Uganda’s beautiful green countryside and the Kigezi highlands region then to Bwindi Forest National Park for our Uganda gorilla safari. This will include a lunch stop in Mbarara and thereafter we continue through the savannah grasslands with lots of banana plantations and several of local long horned Ankole cows indigenous to this part of the country.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking day
I always regard this day to be the biggest of all days in the safari. So, after breakfast we shall head out to the park headquarters where you will be briefed by one of the park staff and thereafter you will meet me with the lead guide who will take you into the forest to find the gorilla family that you will be allocated to. This may take between 2-7 hours round trip depending on how long the family you are trekking will have moved today from where it was last seen yesterday. Depending on how you feel, you may go out for an evening community walk through the villages very close to the forest.
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi Kabale
After breakfast, we will depart Bwindi to Lake Bunyonyi Kabale the place for little birds. This day is meant to relaxe and may be a short village walk around the lake.
Day 4: Transfer to Kampala
After breakfast, we will depart Lake Bunyonyi for Kampala with a lunch stop in Masaka and also at the equator for a photo shot and some shopping of souvenirs as you may wish. This will also mark the end of our memorable and lifetime safari.
